FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do I have to pay a Retainer upfront?
The Retainer reserves your date/time on my calendar. If you cancel your session, the retainer is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule, your retainer will be applied to your rescheduled session, and reserves your new date and time.
What are your travel fees?
Travel fees will be based on either the estimated additional roundtrip mileage and travel time (after 40 miles), or any hotel/airfare costs, as needed based on the session location. Fees will be due PRIOR to your session.
Can I bring a friend or family member with me?
Absolutely. We’ll even incorporate a couple of group shots into your session, if you’d like. But if your guest(s) would like individual images of themself, he/she/they will have to book their own separate session.
Do you offer hair and/or makeup services?
No. But, I do highly recommend that you have your hair and makeup professionally done prior to your session to ensure you look your absolute best.
What’s the difference between social media/web-resolution, and high resolution image files?
High Resolution: For editorial, print advertising, and professional photo lab printing*. 300dpi, 4000px on the longest side. Matching social media digital files included complimentary.
Social Media: For social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn; websites, and/or email. 300dpi, 2048px on the longest side. Studio logo or photo credit text in bottom corner or side. Complimentary with all print purchases.
Why can’t I get the RAW, unedited image files?
I consider unedited (RAW) image files unfinished, and any subsequent editing you do to them on your own or by a third-party, may be misrespresented or misconstrued as my work. If you absolutely must have the RAW image files, you may purchase them with either a limited or unlimited licensing agreement plus a copyright fee.
When do I pay for my prints or digitals?
Due to the custom nature of print orders, and the fact that all professional labs require payment up front, full payment of your prints is due at the time of order. Your payment covers all the materials, shipping and handling, and/or delivery. Products are delivered once payment is made in full.
How long does it take to get my digital image files?
Depending on the number of images you purchase, and the amount of editing/retouching necessary, the typical turnaround time is one to two days, but possibly up to two weeks. If you need your images sooner than that, please let me know prior to your session. A rush fee will apply based on the number of images to be edited. You may also request that purchased products be dropshipped directly to your home for a $10 fee.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Here’s a brief summary of what to expect. We’ll go over these details and more during our initial consulation or pre-session call.
Initial Contact:
I want to ensure that we are a good fit for each other and that you are knowledgeable of all the options available to you — BEFORE you put out any money. So, we can have an optional phone or virtual conversation about your photography needs, my services, products, and prices. I don't want you to be surprised about anything during this entire process.
Booking:
Once you’re ready to proceed, you’ll pay your Booking Retainer to reserve your session date/time. Payments may be done via credit card over the phone or via electronic invoice. All major credit cards are accepted. You may also pay by check. However, checks must be received no later than 36 hours prior to your session.
Your session is not confirmed on my calendar until your retainer payment is received. Your retainer is non-refundable if you decide to cancel, and all sales are subject to state and local sales tax.
Session Day:
Be sure to arrive at your session location about 15 minutes BEFORE your session time so we can go over your wardrobe selections, you can adjust your hair/makeup, and we can go over any other details about your session. No need to stress about posing. I’ll make sure you feel comfortable and look flawless.
If you anticipate being late, please notify me via a phone call or text. Your session, however, will not be extended beyond your scheduled session time. If you have not arrived by 15 minutes after your scheduled session start time, or are a “NO SHOW,” without any communication with me, your session will be considered cancelled, and may not be rescheduled.
After Your Session:
We'll have a virtual image reveal meeting via Google Meet, where you’ll choose your favorite images for purchase. Once you’ve chosen your favorite images, those will be the only ones I edit. You are more than welcome to purchase as many additional images as you’d like. I want you to love them ALL, which is why I offer print and digital collections, which are discounted! The more images you buy, the more money you’ll save!
Product Orders:
Due to the custom nature of photography and the time involved in editing and retouching, no images will be edited, no print orders will be submitted to lab(s), and no products will be delivered, until payment has been received in full. Once your order is paid in full, turnaround times are typically:
Image Editing: 1 day up to one week (depending on the number of images and the complexity of the edits requested)
Digital Delivery: 1 day up to one week
Print Products Delivery: One to six weeks (depending on products ordered and lab production times)
