This is what friendship looks like. Victoria Buchanan and Ashleigh Gabriel. Two people from different backgrounds, one black, one Hispanic. Best friends for nearly three years, and supporting each other with love and respect.
Victoria, a married Army wife, is a full-time history major at Columbus State University in Georgia. A native of Clarksville, Tennessee, her goal is to attend law school and eventually work with the Innocence Project, which helps to exonerate wrongly convicted men and women through DNA testing and reform of the criminal justice system. She describes herself as "an outgoing bubbly person who just wants to enjoy her life to the fullest. I love hard and love seeing people succeed in their goals in life."
Ashleigh Gabriel, a native of South Hadley, Massachussetts, is a personal trainer, and a Kinesiology major, also at Columbus State. Although she says fitness is her passion, her ultimate life goal is to become an FBI agent. She describes herself as "a confident person who loves to watch her friends succeed in everything they do."
These two ladies were a pleasure to not only meet, but to photograph. Although the portrait session was primarily for Victoria, who models as a hobby, I had to get a shot of Ashleigh as well, who accompanied Victoria to her session. I'm so proud to have captured their beauty and their friendship.
